Energy Foundry

Brandon Pearlman

Brandon is an accomplished entrepreneur and business professional with a passion for the software, technology, and energy industries. When not contemplating his next startup, he spends his time advising early stage companies and is also an active investor in the digital currency and blockchain market. He currently serves as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence (“EIR”) for Energy Foundry.

Before becoming an EIR, he co-founded and served as the COO and CPO (Chief Product Officer) of a Chicago-based intelligence and analytics software startup in the energy space called Digital H2O. After raising a seed round from one of the largest private equity firms in the world and securing some of the biggest oil and gas companies as customers, he sold the company to a large strategic information services business within 18 months of the first funding close.

Brandon spent his time previous to that at a renewable energy private equity firm where he was in charge of strategy and analysis for the firm’s investment opportunities. He worked on a variety of deals in biofuels and biomass and led the successful turn-around acquisition of a bankrupt ethanol plant.

Earlier in his career Brandon was a management consultant focused on enterprise software, discovery services, and business process optimization for Fortune 500 companies. He worked on domestic and international engagements for companies like Aon Corporation, Tyco International, Navistar, and Fannie Mae.

Brandon holds a Master of Science degree in Environmental Management from the Illinois Institute of Technology Stuart School of Business where he graduated with honors, and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Iowa’s Tippie College of Business. Additionally, he holds system engineering certifications from Microsoft.
