Small Business Innovation Research Projects to Make a Big Impact on Clean Energy Economy

Big congratulations to portfolio company SiNode Systems for receiving $1 million in Phase II from the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) and the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program. In this round of funding, 14 small businesses including woman- and minority-owned firms will receive $15 million in awards to bring their innovative technologies closer to market.

The grant will help Evanston-based SiNode Systems develop batteries that double the energy density of standard batteries and aim to lower costs while improving efficiency of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles.
